1. Basic Commands
Training
Start with these essential commands:
Sit – Hold a treat above their nose, move it back, and say "sit." Reward when they do it.
Stay – Have them sit, say "stay," take a step back, and reward them for staying.
Come – Call their name, say "come," and reward when they reach you.
Leave it – Use this to prevent them from grabbing things they shouldn’t. Show a treat, say "leave it," and reward when they ignore it.
2. House Training
Take them outside frequently (every 2 hours, after eating, drinking, and waking up).
Reward immediately after they go potty outside.
Use a crate if needed, as dogs avoid soiling their sleeping area.
3. Socialization
Expose them to different people, places, sounds, and other dogs in a controlled manner.
Start early (before 16 weeks) to prevent fear and aggression issues later.
4. Leash Training
Use a short leash at first to guide them.
Reward loose leash walking; stop if they pull and only move forward when they come back to your side.
5. Preventing Bad Behaviors
Chewing – Provide chew toys and redirect if they chew furniture.
Jumping – Ignore them when they jump, reward calm behavior.
.
6. Positive Reinforcement
Reward good behavior with treats, praise, or playtime.
Avoid punishment; it can cause fear and confusion.
